About me

I’m Mehdi Daustany

A technical lead and software architect with 17+ years building enterprise-grade SaaS and FinTech platforms from the ground up.

I take products from an empty repository to production — across architecture, delivery, and the teams that ship them. I’m based in Amsterdam, and I build the modern, AI-agentic way.

Career

My journey

Seventeen years across FinTech, blockchain, and product engineering — most of it taking systems from zero to one.

  1. Feb 2024 – Present

    Technical Lead

    Fininly B.V. · Amsterdam, NL
I architected and built a multi-tenant crowdfunding platform from an empty repository to production, and I lead the cross-functional team that ships it — owning domain modelling, service boundaries, Azure infrastructure, and CI/CD.
  2. Apr 2022 – Feb 2024

    Senior Software Engineer

    LeviChain · UAE
I delivered the engineering for a national-token ICO that drew more than 112,000 investors — secure smart contracts on Ethereum and Tron, validated by extensive security review — and built a fiat-to-crypto exchange on a microservices architecture, Dockerized and deployed to Azure.
  3. Apr 2020 – Apr 2022

    Senior Full Stack Engineer

    Asa Co. · Tehran, Iran
I built a multi-tenant SaaS product on a microservices framework with Clean Architecture, DDD, and SOLID — ending the repetitive per-client rewrites — backed by Redis caching and reliable background processing, with SEO-friendly Angular and React frontends.
  4. Jan 2013 – Apr 2020

    Full Stack Engineer

Futurists of Culture · Tehran, Iran
I engineered a scalable CMS for a major news agency end to end — backend, schema, and frontends — hardening data security across millions of records and tuning caching, load balancing, and queries for high traffic.
  5. Apr 2009 – Jan 2013

    Developer

    Rahjouyan Engineering · Tehran, Iran
I built and maintained core modules and contributed to architecture and early performance work on the .NET stack — where the habits that still define how I build took shape.

How I work

Philosophy & discipline

The standard behind the work — made explicit.

  • Front-line of the craft

I default to cutting-edge and secure-by-default, and I verify against the authoritative source before I commit to anything. I don’t ship what was true a few years ago.

  • Disciplined and relentless

I hold a hard quality bar — zero build warnings, the full test suite green, no shortcuts. I work long hours by choice, because I genuinely love the craft.

  • AI-agentic by method

I lead and build with AI agents and AI engineering — orchestrating, reviewing, and shipping at a speed and quality the old, manual way can’t match. It’s the intelligent way of working.

  • Architect first

I think in domains, boundaries, and long-term maintainability. Every decision is intentional; nothing lands in the codebase by accident.

Off the clock

A bit more

I’m based in Amsterdam, and what drives me is simple: build things properly, and keep raising the bar on how modern software gets made. Outside the day job I’m incubating four product ideas and the patent behind them.

I’m open to select roles and engagements where architecture and quality matter.
